[Hifumi rolls his eyes.]

And now you're totally running! Again! You never wanna hear it, but you need someone to take care of you, Doppo! You'd die if I didn't!

[orenosei]

[Oh he sure is running again.

Doppo always did suck at comforting.]

[hostjacket]

[He does. All Hifumi needed was a hug and reassurance and he got yelled at.

So he's just going to watch Doppo run and hide before going to his room, slamming the door, and curling up on the floor by his bed to cry. Not loudly, he doesn't want to upset Doppo any more, but he needs a good cry.]

[orenosei]

[Doppo has never been good at it.

But he can TRY. Try being the keyword. He feels bad. Bad for yelling, bad for causing a scene. He gets up and goes across to Hifumi's room. He figured this would be the way he found him. He's going to walk in and shut the door behind himself.]

[And Hifumi doesn't respond. He's just going to ignore Doppo like Doppo so clearly wants him to do, what with his refusal of Hifumi's care and affection and worry.

Still crying, though.]

[Sitting next to him with a sigh, trying to get an arm around him.]

[...he'll allow it. He won't lean against Doppo, but he'll let him wrap an arm around him.]

[Pulling Hifumi against his side.]

[Reaching up to wipe the tears.]

[Tugging him closer.]

All I know how to do is lash out.

I feel a little worthless sometimes when my only good quality is that I can protect you.

[He pokes Doppo's cheek a little.]

You're good at calming me down. You're probably, like, way smarter than me? Way better at time management. You don't like upsetting people which is why your boss totally walks all over you and is totally going to end up killing you by overwork. You're way better at grocery shopping, you remember the train schedule, and I know if you let me get a cat you'd love it and be the best at caring for it.

The time thing is questionable, I oversleep all the time....

[He shuffles a little. Hifumi is so goddamn much. He doesn't know how to deal with him sometimes. But dammit? He loves Hifumi. He loves him a lot.]

You accept me even when I'm being a difficult asshole.

Duh. You're Doppochin. Unless you, like, murdered someone I'll always love you. Someone has to, since apparently you don't.

[orenosei]

You say the love word so plainly!

[He is definitely red now?! Good job Hifumi. He doesn't know how to deal with this right now.]

[Look, he loves Doppo. That's all that matters.]

I love you. I have for years and, like, I'm not gonna stop. Not even if Sensei, y'know, told me I had to because reasons.

[Say it so plainly, and get Doppo red faced. Doppo loves Hifumi too! So much?!]

I know. You wouldn't still be working at that godawful place if you didn't think you needed to in order to look after me.

[He drops his head on Doppo's shoulder.]

Even though I keep telling you I'd be happier if you stopped because then you'd be less miserable and not about to keel over from work. Sensei can't cure karoshi, you know. [A beat.] Prob'ly, anyway. I mean, it's, y'know, death but maybe Sensei knows people who can fix that. I dunno.

[Hifumi knows damn well not even Jakurai could fix it if Doppo died from overwork, but he'll play up the airhead a little right now]

What happens when you get sick and need to take days off? I have to provide those days, you can't do everything alone...Hifumi.

[Reflexively he puts a hand on top of Hifumi's head and strokes his hair.]

I'd be happier if I quit, but, I just....can't quite. Threat of karoshi or not.

[Sensei....could not fix him if he died, but, yeah.]
